Just letting everyone know that I haven't forgotten about this blog; It's just often hard to keep it up to date when most of my recent work has consisted of Adult commissions.

I will be sharing more G-Rated work though, as I still draw it often, haha.

Some updates in regards to my artwork;
I will no longer be using the gallery "Deviantart". I had posted my work there for about seven years now, but in light of some policy changes and management issues, I've decided that It would be in my own better interest to refrain from using it anymore.

Now, if you're here for art, then prepare for a massive dump:

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 133px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n0iBdUc0lI4/TKQF_aoPQSI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/SAE-Pd005iQ/s200/Holiday_Icon_Batch_by_anuvia.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522545630101061922" />During the holiday season of 2009, I took on various icon commissions done in a way that would resemble a cutout card; Here's a few of my favorites. These icons were all done via Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. The card/paper effect was created by a combination of textures and lineless coloring. It's a surprisingly simple effect that anyone can pull off and it usually creates a great effect!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n0iBdUc0lI4/TKQHb7bVbgI/AAAAAAAAAFY/DRXYFV5K8YM/s200/Fille_Des_Fleurs___Nous_Avons_by_anuvia.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522547219453275650" />
Here, we have a piece in which I was trying to capture a more feminine form without outright showing the front half of the body. I'd always struggled with distinguishing a female form from a male's in my art throughout the years, so I made a personal challenge out of it. I spent a good several weeks exploring the female form beyond the obvious breast area and this was one of the more successful attempts of the time. The sketch was done on regular sketch paper; the effects were added via photoshop with textures and messing with layer opacity.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 145px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n0iBdUc0lI4/TKQIaf-8spI/AAAAAAAAAFg/QDgSv6sD38c/s200/Low_of_Solipsism_by_anuvia.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522548294418215570" />
In late 2008, I wanted to experiment with different mediums, as I'd been primarily functioning in digital. One day, the idea of using prisma markers on cardboard, hit me while I was at work. I had to give it a shot, as it was just interesting of an idea to pass up. The end result was this. There's not much to note about the piece, as nothing out of the ordinary was done. I really had fun with these as I've not drawn dragons very much in the past and have always been somewhat of a weak point in my art.

The interesting aspect of these icons is the style I used to color them; I'd never really used "Gradient Shading" before, but ever since I'd seen Evana do it back in 06, I'd always wanted to take a stab at it.

Overall, I like the look of it but I don't feel it favors my style all too much. I doubt I'll be using it anymore.

Also, for the curious, there's a recording I had taken of the beginning to end process.

More Collab work!

Today's Music:

Dropping by to post some artwork I've neglected to share.

First off, we have two new Collaborations between Angela and myself. In order to attend a local convention, we've teamed up and have decided to take on several commissions from private individuals. As usual, I've done the original sketch and she's given them amazing color jobs via Sai Paint Tool and Photoshop. Here's the latest two we're turned out.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 182px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n0iBdUc0lI4/SiZROrOogyI/AAAAAAAAAEk/7vHv7V7sFwg/s200/1243550053.anjila_ozawk-small.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343047320485790498" />

This first one is a commission work of a character by the name of Ozwak. The commissioner was very excited about the end results and to be honest, I am too. Angela has a magical way of meshing our styles and this one happens to be my favorite of the ones we completed thus far.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 309px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n0iBdUc0lI4/SiZRmypQTMI/AAAAAAAAAEs/8ry4rKFR64o/s320/foxtrack.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343047734793358530" />

Here we have a headshot of the character FoxTrack. The commissioner gave us a little bit of fun in asking us to adapt his character into the outfit of a Engineer from the PC game "Team Fortress 2" (which I will add is an amazingly fun game that I strongly recommend.)

This one presented more of a challenge for me considering I'm still very new to the avian facial structure and the addition of the helmet and goggles did throw me off slightly.

That's all for the collaboration artwork, onto the stuff I've done on my own:
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n0iBdUc0lI4/SiZSjP0ZaTI/AAAAAAAAAE0/jksJ4U2w1aA/s200/wescommish.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343048773416872242" />

Last but not least is the finished icon commission of a personal character named Westly. The commissioner was very specific about the details of this image, so I had to explore some unusual angles on the human skull. I can't say I'm entirely pleased with the finished product, but the commissioner loved it and that's all that mattered. I admittedly was rather lazy on the details of this image such as the desk and computer but I can get away with it since it's going to be used as a 100x100px icon, haha.

That's all for now folks, and thanks for reading.

Collab art!

Hey there everyone, long time no post!

Just dropping by to show off some work that I've been doing with local artist and friend by the name of Anjila.

I draw the actual image and she uses her amazing talent to bring some life into the work by adding some color C:

<img style="cursor:pointer; I threw together a rough sketch that I thought I'd share with everyone to try and get some input. The overall design idea is to have the fox standing on a log so I have the freedom to stylize the character without fear that it wouldn't stand up. Anyways, keep in mind this is still a very rough sketch.

Any input is welcome C:

I'm basing the face markings on traditional kabuki face paint designs like these in addition to examples of Kistune Masks I've seen in portions of little Tokyo on trips to L.A.

I'm really hoping I can put an ascetically pleasing character that doesn't go as far to resemble Amaterasu from the Okami games.

New Art dump!

Hey everyone, just dumping a few things here for the sake of actually sharing them. Not sure what her character is, but it's adorable and I decided I needed to draw it.

The sketch work on an icon commissioned from someone on Livejournal. Going to be finishing this up soon. Not sure if I like how the angle turned out, but I'm still trying my damnedest to improve the way I draw human based characters.

This one was more or less a test on male anatomy and thicker builds. Generally, I have this tendency to draw skinny, effeminate men unintentionally so I decided to kill two birds with one stone and attempt a remake of this. I don't really plan on finishing this, but for the sake of showing I at least attempted a different body structure, I'm sharing this with you.

And last sketch for now, my Sabertooth character Sabbeo. I decided to goof around with his design and give him some pudge for the sake of saying I can draw more varied body types. Also wanted to mess around with expressions, and as you can see he's not all too excited about the situation.

TEST

test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test
